- New options at Riverside Outdoor movies back for summer Hop down to Corner Shop

You can now head upstairs at Riverside Market to sample two new food and drink spots – Castro’s and Kaiser Brew Garden.

Castro’s offers tapas and bar menus, and plenty of smoky, chargrilled meats.

With food that is easy to share, frequent live music, salsa nights, and extended weekend hours, Castro’s brings an authentic Spanish flair to the city.

Owner Richard Castro spent time in Spain to perfect this concept, and everything from the menu to the fit-out reflects this.

Culinary options include seafood, chicken, pork or vegetarian paella, which you can have with a glass of Spanish wine, or any of Castro’s range of cocktails.

Just across the way at Kaiser Brew Garden, you’ll find the central city’s only working micro-brewery, as well as a beautiful roof terrace garden bar.

There’s a wide range of beers and wines, and a Bavaria-inspired menu.

Kaiser Brew Garden is the work of Canterbury’s well known global wine producers, the Giesen brothers, brewing legend Dicky Fife and hospitality personality Campbell Parker.

The Giesen brothers’ great uncle established Kaiser Brewery in Bavaria in the 1830s, which was bought by Heineken in the 1970s.

Fife is the brewer behind beers such as Dux de Lux’s Ginger Tom brew, and Parker has been involved in hospitality ventures such as The Old Vicarage and Bootleg BBQ.
