Job sites embrace remote work

-

More Kiwis are looking for flexible work arrangements following the coronavirus lockdown, forcing job search websites to adapt. Jobseekers can now hone in on remote employment opportunities after the Seek website added ‘‘work from home’’ as a location option. As of yesterday, Seek had 134 work from home listings across New Zealand, including 32 vacancies in information and communications technology and 24 in accounting. Other listings included healthcare, education, marketing, sales and accounting. Change is also afoot at Trade Me, with the website set to launch a dedicated page to help job hunters find roles allowing them to work from home. Trade Me Jobs spokesman Jeremy Wade said the page will be introduced in the next couple of weeks and accessed from a banner on the jobs homepage. ‘‘We’re also encouraging employers to use the words ‘work from home’ in their advertisements.’’
