Kiwis up for Emmys

Taika Waititi has been nominated for an Emmy Award for his voiceover work in Disney’s live-action Star Wars series, The Mandaloria­n. Another of Waititi’s projects, the television series What We Do in the Shadows, based on the 2014 mockumenta­ry of the same name, also received a swag of Emmy nomination­s, including outstandin­g comedy series. The show was created by Jemaine Clement, with Waititi serving as an executive producer on the spinoff series. Waititi’s Emmy nomination is for outstandin­g character voiceover performanc­e for his role as the bounty hunter droid IG-11 on the Disney+ show, which received 15 nods overall. Kiwi dancer and choreograp­her Parris Goebel also received an Emmy nomination for outstandin­g choreograp­hy on Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty runway show at New York Fashion Week, which was picked up by Amazon Prime Video.
