Ko splits with coach

-

Jorge Parada, swing coach of New Zealand’s top woman golfer Lydia Ko, says he’s been cut loose ahead of the resumption of the LPGA Tour in the US. Parada told NZME he was jettisoned by Ko during a video call in which he thought they would be discussing her swing. He becomes the fifth coach to part ways with Ko in the past four years, after David Leadbetter, Gary Gilchrist, Ted Oh and David Whelan. ‘‘She just gave me a call and I thought she was gonna call me to FaceTime me and do some swing work for an hour or half hour or so. She called me and told me [I wasn’t required any more],’’ Parada said. ‘‘I don’t know exactly what the reasoning was. I know we ended up on very good terms.’’
