Not completely grounded by the pandemic, the supermodel looks casual chic in denim and T-shirts, writes Josie Steenhart.

P re-Covid, there wouldn’t be aweek in the fashion world without a paparazzi shot of supermodel Liu Wen at an international airport, and it was always a treat to see what outfit she had put together for her travels.

The formerly regular off-duty single-person runway shows have obviously slowed considerably this year, but luckily for us the Vogue cover model is still occasionally spotted at airports in China, providing her fashion fans with amuch-missed hit of sartorial inspiration.

I particularly enjoy Wen’s eclectic denim choices, from washed-out blue to indigo to black, and in shapes from straight and cuffed to wide-leg and flared. And they’re always punctuated with a cool pair of sneakers.

The 32-year-old beauty has been a spokeswoman for Estee Lauder since 2010, so while her face is mostly hidden inside masks here, we can likely put that clear skin down to one of her Lauder favourites, Advanced Night Repair serum, and apparently her favourite wear-anywhere lipstick is Estee Lauder’s Pure Colour Envy lipstick in a vibrant yet versatile red called Envious. Yes, we are, envious.
