Masked in charity
Here’s a chance to own a piece of New Zealand history, commemorate 2020 and support charity all in one. The Rangiora Lions Club, in North Canterbury, is auctioning on TradeMe two framed face masks signed by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and director-general of health Dr Ashley Bloomfield. The masks feature phrases commonly uttered at the daily 1pm Covid-19 briefings: ‘‘Be kind’’ and ‘‘Kia ora koutou katoa’’. All proceeds will go to Blind LowVision NZ, formerly known as the Blind Foundation.
