Snobbery too far

-

Much as I enjoyed reading Chris Watkins’ criticism (Nov 24) of my review of the film Made in Italy, I do take issue with his accusation of ‘‘literary snobbery’’.

I advised the readers – and this is in print – to stay at home with their loved ones, drink heavily andmake sock puppets, rather than seeing the film.

Surely ‘‘drunken sock puppetry at home’’ is just about the least literary or snobbish thing imaginable. In a family newspaper, at least?

As always, thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
