Stars reach WBBL final

-

The Melbourne Stars' remarkable turnaround has continued after cruising past the Perth Scorchers by seven wickets to earn a place in their maiden WBBL final. Last year's wooden spooners crushed the Scorchers at North Sydney Oval on Wednesday night, securing the victory with 22 balls to spare, to advance to tomorrow's decider against the winner of last night's semifinal between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder. Spinner Alana King set up the win for the Stars, taking 3-16, including the big wicket of New Zealand star Sophie Devine for 12. The Scorchers mustered only 125-8 from their 20 overs, a total the Stars reached for the loss of three wickets with 22 balls left.
