Support your local eateries as often as you can

-

Local restaurants, cafes and takeaway businesses are essential for the economy and the lifeblood of our communities. They bring growth and innovation, provide jobs, create entrepreneurship opportunities and support their local economies, communities and neighbourhoods.

They also care about their community and are what makes our city special. They often know their customers by name; they are our neighbours and friends.

It’s no secret that we’ve all had a tough year with Covid lockdowns and restrictions, but local eateries right across the country are really feeling it.

Some have had to endure temporary closures, whilst others will never open their doors to customers again. Those that are still open will no doubt be feeling some form of financial strain for quite some time to come, so it’s important that if you are thinking of dining out or choosing a takeaway dine in option that you try local first.

Ultimately, it’s going to be up to us, the customers, to support these businesses so our communities can continue to thrive.

With Christmas just around the corner, supporting local has never been more important.

If you can afford to, purchase from your favourite local eateries or buy gift cards or credit for your friends, your family or even yourself to spend later.

Considering a family get together? How about dining out at one of your favourite restaurants? Wanting to eat in with friends, try click and collect from your local eatery. There are plenty of options to ensure you not only enjoy a fabulous meal, but also support those who have had a particularly tough year.

These businesses are vital to the success of the economy. A significant number have provided an essential service to the community for many, many years. They are passionate about the region and strive to deliver the best possible service time and time again. They are invested in the community; help them out by dining out, grabbing that takeaway coffee and muffin or ordering in one night a week. Every little bit will make a difference to your local eateries and might just continue to keep them local.
