Noted NZ business commentator dies

New Zealand business commentator and businessman Brian Gaynor has died following a brief illness, BusinessDesk said yesterday. Gaynor co-founded Milford Asset Management, an investment company that currently has $15 billion under management. He became a major shareholder in business news publisher BusinessDesk and chairman of the board before its sale to NZME last year. Gaynor won the NZ Shareholders Association Beacon Award in 2020 and 2006, and wrote a column for the New Zealand Herald for 23 years. He had also been a partner and head of research at Jarden, a member of the New Zealand stock exchange, chairman of the New Zealand Society of Investment Analysts and chairman of the Asian Securities Analysts Council.
