Ieremia leaves Auks

Auckland Rugby have parted ways with NPC coach Alama Ieremia, announcing he will be succeeded by his assistant Craig McGrath for the 2023 provincial season. The union confirmed yesterday that Ieremia is moving on after five largely successful years on the park with the blue and white hoops, but some rumblings of discontent off it as some senior players cut their ties with the union during his tenure. Ieremia took over in 2018, winning the NPC title in his maiden season and being named New Zealand’s coach of the year at the annual awards. In five seasons he led the side to four semifinals, two home finals and the single title.
