Auckland's Eden Park has been listed as a finalist for two international awards.

The venue in New Zealand's largest city has been included in a seven-strong category that includes London's Wembley Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park, for the Venue of the Year award in The Stadium Business Awards.

Eden Park has also been named a finalist for the Event of the Year award, having been named alongside Sydney's Accor Stadium in this category, after they hosted FIFA women's World Cup fixtures last year.

The Stadium Business Awards 2024 recognise leadership, innovation and achievement across global stadiums.

The winners will be announced in Manchester on June 18.

Eden Park chief executive officer Nick Sautner said being recognised as a finalist in the Venue of the Year category alongside major international stadiums including Wembley Stadium and Croke Park, was an "honour''.

"To be nominated in such Illustrious company and globally iconic stadia highlights Eden Park’s standing as a world leader in the industry,” Sautner stated.

Sautner also noted that being listed in the Event of the Year category was confirmation that Eden Park was a premier venue for world-class events.

“Over the past five years we have evolved to be a truly hybrid multi-purpose, stadium delivering a diverse range of events from sports matches and community events to major international concerts,'' he said.

Sautner said 70% of the attendances in 2023 came from events which weren’t part of our business model five years ago.

He said that reflected their "strategic commitment to innovation'' and constantly adapting their offering to meet the changing needs and interests of our community.
