-

A man who strangled his partner was told it was serious offending and potentially life-threatening, when he appeared in Invercargill District Court yesterday.

The summary of facts says Renton and his partner were at home and he was moderately intoxicated when a verbal argument began over where she had been before coming home.

When she attempted to walk away he placed both his hands around her throat, applied pressure and pushed her onto the bed while holding her by the throat, the summary says.
