Hemisphere’s highest rise

Sydney’s west could soon be home to the tallest residential tower in the southern hemisphere – a 90-storey structure in Parramatta. The Parramatta City Council has lodged a development application for the high-rise planned for Church St in the city centre. Aspire Tower would reach 336 metres, making it the tallest residential tower in the southern hemisphere, the council said. The tower is to have 700 apartments, retail space and a 150-room hotel.
