Charlotte a Golden Girl

- Jamie Searle

Tact Charlotte will continue along the path to the Golden Girls Series when she competes at Ascot Park tomorrow.

Her Winton trainer Trevor Proctor is aiming three horses at the mares’ series which is held at Ascot Park, Winton and Forbury Park during May and June.

Tact Charlotte will contest the non-winners to one-win division of the series, while her stablemates Ideal Tact and Tact Hayleys Delight are being set for the two to four-wins section.

Four-year-oldTactCharlottehad an interrupted run in a maiden race at Ascot Park on March 23.

She was held up at the rear on the final bend, got clear turning for home and finished fast for seventh.

“She came home better than anything else in the last 100,” Proctor said yesterday.

From her handy draw, Tact Charlotte should race prominently in the Regent Roundabout South West Pace tomorrow.

Proctor’s other runner at Ascot Park, Mike McKaid, is having his second start back from a spell in the Saddlery Warehouse Junior Drivers’ Pace.

Mike McKaid had not raced for eight months when finishing seventh at Ascot Park on March 23.

“He’s trimmed down a bit, it looks like he’s improved.”
