One-off screening of Waters movie

-

Gore is included in a worldwide string of movie theatres that will screen Roger Waters The Wall for one night only tonight.

The visually spectacular documentary premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival a year ago, but has not been seen anywhere else since.

The film is decribed by Waters as a ‘‘protest movie’’ and includes concert footage from Waters’ threeyear tour in which he played the classic 1979 Pink Floyd concept album The Wall in its entirety. The autobiographical album was based on Water’s life growing up in postwar England, and the movie includes footage of his vists to the places where he lost his grandfather in World War 1 and his father in World War II.

It has been described as a state-ofthe-art show that dazzles the senses, combined with an intensely personal road trip that deals with the loss Waters has felt throughout his life due to war.

Roger Waters The Wall will screen at SBS St James Theatre in Gore at 8 o’clock tonight
