Petition to keep on Jono and Ben show

The Southland Times - - National News -

The decision to end Jono and Ben’s long running show has been met with anger from fans, who are demanding it be ‘‘uncancelled’’. The pair announced on Thursday night that they would not return for an eighth season in 2019. It appeared the decision to end the series had been made long ago, with New Zealand On Air confirming MediaWorks made no application for further funding. A petition was launched almost immediately after the show, calling for MediaWorks to keep the comedy duo on air. The series would end in five weeks. MediaWorks chief content officer Andrew Szusterman said there were ongoing discussions about future projects for the comedians to work on. The petition called Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce ‘‘icons of New Zealand television’’.
