Bur­glary in­ves­ti­gated

Po­lice were called to a Bal­four ad­dress in South­land on Thurs­day night to in­ves­ti­gate a bur­glary that ap­par­ently took place be­fore the oc­cu­pant’s eyes. A Queen St res­i­dent re­ported that they saw their garage en­tered by a per­son who pro­ceeded to take items, a po­lice spokesper­son said. What they took was not yet clear. When ques­tioned the al­leged of­fender ap­par­ently made threats and left the scene but came back with more peo­ple. It was not yet clear whether more items were taken. Po­lice were called at about 6.50pm but the group had left. It was pos­si­bly a civil prop­erty is­sue, the po­lice spokesper­son said. Po­lice vis­ited a re­lated ad­dress, but no ar­rests were made. In­quiries are con­tin­u­ing.
