FINDEX ANNOUNCES TWO NEW PARTNERS IN SOUTHLAND.

-

Findex Managing Partner for Southland Neil McAra has announced the promotions of Mark Hamilton and Larry Mitchell to Partner.

McAra said “the duo had forged a good reputation within Findex and with their clients over a number of years and stepped up well when promoted to Associate Partner in 2020. The way they have handled the extra responsibility alongside the challenge of supporting their clients during Covid-19 disruptions reaffirmed they are ready to take the next step up to Partner this year.”

McAra also notes the loyalty shown by Mitchell and Hamilton, alongside a willingness to step up and do what was best for their clients and the business in challenging times, were key factors in their promotion.

Becoming Partners will add to what has been a busy 12 months for Hamilton and Mitchell, juggling their young families alongside growing careers, while both men have also been generous with their time in the local community.

Hamilton, born and bred in Southland has been with Findex and its predecessor firms since 2003. He is very passionate about sport and takes the strong goal setting and progress tracking principles across to his client’s businesses. Hamilton believes this process of setting goals and measuring progress has got easier with modern accounting software that allows him to work with clients in real time, tracking results against set budgets, and keeping on top of cash flow forecasts.

“The likes of Xero and MYOB have been game changes for our ability to help clients manage their businesses more effectively” Hamilton says.

Hamilton has a strong agribusiness focus and works with some of southern New Zealand’s more well-known farming operations. He also has a growing client base of hospitality businesses who have been heavily impacted by Covid-19, which have required a lot of support and close communication in recent times.

Hamilton will continue to be based in the Invercargill office but will travel regularly to Te Anau and Winton to meet with clients.

Mitchell, a product of Bluff, now resides in Invercargill and currently works out of both the Invercargill and Te Anau offices, while travelling regularly to Gore. A keen runner he’s not forgotten his seaside roots and has an active involvement with the Coastguard.

Starting his career with Findex in 2000 over the last 20 years Mitchell has grown a good client base of primary sector, trade, retail and hospitality businesses. He is passionate about working with start-ups as well as established businesses looking to grow.

“It’s exciting helping clients who want to grow their business. We get them onto the right software, set up the right systems to enable growth and work with them more closely to fulfil their ambitions” Said Mitchell.

Mitchell will also be adding Te Anau to his travel diary in his new role as Partner.
