Wastewater project begins

-

The Gore District Council has begun a four- to six-month project inspecting the town’s wastewater mains using CCTV. Contractors will clean the mains using a high-pressure water blaster before inspections begin, which may cause air pressure issues in pipes. The council will inform residents a couple of days before they arrive in the area, and residents should keep their toilet lids closed during the work. The council is inspecting about 20 kilometres of pipes thanks to $600,000 of government funding from the $2.7 million Covid-19 Three Waters Stimulus Fund.
