The C Brown Builders - Olphert Contracting team features a real mix of backgrounds this year. Aaron Anderson is a recent convert to road cycling, and considers the Tour of Southland the ultimate challenge, so he is looking forward to his first round of the South. Bradley Jones is looking forward to the uphill finishes in the Tour, making him a bit of a rarity among all those who shudder when they cast their eyes up towards The Remarkables or gaze upon the fearsome slopes of Bluff Hill. Jack Gillingham will be making his Tour debut this year, but has extensive racing experience on road and track, including representing New Zealand at the 2022 Tour de l’Abitibi. Although now based in Tauranga, he started his cycling career in Invercargill, watching the Tour of Southland peloton ride past his school. Matt Davis is another rider making his Tour debut, and with a recent seventh place overall in the Tour of Waikato he hopes to put that experience to good use in Southland. Sam Clark is a noted multisport athlete, with four Coast to Coast titles to his name. His debut Tour did not go according to plan last year with a heavy crash on stage two taking him out of the race, so he will be hoping for better luck this time around. Sam Manson is another multisport athletes taking on the Tour, with two second places in the Coast to Coast to his name, and having finished in the top ten on each of his nine starts in the event.
