Make a SPLASH

WOW WALLS

Who says wallpaper has to be reserved for living spaces and bedrooms? Last seen in a big way in the 1980s, wallpapered bathrooms are making waves again. Romantic, whimsical and old-school in the best way, this is a vibe we can get behind.

DOUBLE, DOUBLE

There’s a joke about the secret to a good marriage being separate bathrooms. While that might be out of reach for most of us, we’re seeing a lot of ‘twinning’ in bathroom design. Whether it’s two sinks, two shower heads or two cabinets, splash out and double up for the two of you.

ELECTRIC ECLECTIC

Let’s face it, bathrooms have long been treated as one of the most boring rooms the house. Yet another nautical theme or all-white bathroom, anyone? Since lockdown, we’ve become bolder with decor; if you spend all that time in your home, you might as well double down on your favourite style and the bathroom is the perfect place to let loose a little. We’re seeing more bold, eclectic styling in bathrooms. Interesting art, shocks of colour – statement mirrors – why not? The beauty of this look is that it can be achieved on any budget, with colours and accessories easily switched out when you want a change.

ORGANICALLY CLEAN

Bathrooms can be relaxing sanctuaries at the end of a long day, so it makes sense we’re channelling a spa-like feel, with natural touches like bamboo, wood, earthy tiles and even stone baths. On a budget? Use accessories and easycare plants to add an organic touch.

BLACK OUT

If you love a dramatic bathroom, you can’t go wrong with generous lashings of black. It’s being embraced in bathrooms – everything from sleek black tapware to raven tiling to noir vanities. If you don’t want to go all out, just add a touch; white with black taps or vanity.
