Scholarship winner

Donald McIntosh is the recipient of the inaugural Stephen Whiteland Memorial Scholarship run by AWS Legal. Formed in honour of Whiteland, an AWS Legal staff member and friend who passed away in May 2021, the scholarship was awarded in collaboration with his family to recognise and support aspiring young lawyers. AWS Legal partner Cameron Murphy said Whiteland loved helping young solicitors. McIntosh’s dedication to the law community included starting a charity called Employment Advice NZ where tertiary students create legal selfhelp resources aimed at young people, to help them constructively resolve employment problems. He will receive $2000 from AWS Legal for the next two years of study.
