Crash closes highway

A section of state highway in Southland was completely blocked late on late yesterday afternoon after a truck crash. A police spokeswoman said no-one was injured in the single vehicle accident, on State Highway 96 [Winton-Wreys Bush Highway] about 4.05pm. ‘‘The trailer of the truck was on its side, completely blocking the road,’’ the spokesperson said. Traffic was diverted while the accident site was cleared.
