Proudly serving the people of Southland

-

Not-for-profit business, Southern Adventure, formally known as the Scout Shop, has been proudly serving the people of Southland since 1965.

Originally based in Dee Street, the store moved to its current location at 31 Tay Street in 1988 and continues to be one of the evergreen businesses of the Invercargill CBD.

Locally owned and operated, Southern Adventure has grown over the years and now offers an extensive range of tramping, camping and hunting equipment.

In the face of strong competition from national retail chains with significant buying power, the friendly team at Southern Adventure is still able to hold its own by stocking a carefully chosen range of competitively-priced products.

Manager Craig Burke says his team has extensive product knowledge and can advise on the best products for every purpose; with Hunters Element, Osprey, Oztrail are among the wellknown brands stocked in-store.

These are popular with hunters, trampers and campers, a market the store has tapped into more over the years, and that has overtaken sales of camping products.

‘‘We are getting a lot of people from Australia and the North Island that love this shop, love the variety and pricing.

‘‘They also love how it’s an independently owned small business in the community.’’

Southern Adventures also regularly offers a range of fantastic in-store specials. These are listed on their facebook page, so make sure you keep up-todate by checking it regularly (www.facebook.com/southernadventure).

Their facebook presence means they are also often the goto store for adventures from other parts of New Zealand and across the world, Craig says.

Loyal customers are rewarded with a V.I.P card that entitles them to 15% discount off regular store prices and 25% off during sales.

If you are short on equipment for your next big outdoor adventure, call in and see the team at Southern Adventure, a one-stop-shop for all your outdoor needs.
