Harassment case

The Timaru Herald - - COMMENT&OPINION -

The story ‘‘‘Dirty money’ will go to charity’’ (April 22), about the harassment campaign waged by Jeremy Buis against a Dunedin businessman, in my opinion highlights why digital harassment won’t go away.

It disappoints me. I believe Jeremy Buis should have received a minimum of two years’ jail time. He made Daniel Pryde’s life hell for two years so the penalty should’ve been the same.

Laws must be changed now to stop this. If the judicial system in this country allows these types of idiots to get away with this type of behaviour, then expect the problem to get worse.

They call themselves cyberbullies. The first thing to do is call them what they are. They should be called faceless cowards.

It really can’t be hard to make us and our children safe from these faceless cowards.

I believe the media should instigate this name change. How many people would think it is cool to be known as a coward? John Bolt
