Sep­a­ratists kill 19 work­ers in row over pho­to­graphs

In­done­sian troops are search­ing re­mote jun­gles for sep­a­ratists who mas­sa­cred con­struc­tion work­ers. Nine­teen civil­ians and one sol­dier were re­ported killed in Nduga, Pa­pua prov­ince, after sep­a­ratists turned on work­ers brought in from other is­lands to build a bridge. One of the mi­grant work­ers caused of­fence by tak­ing a pho­to­graph dur­ing cer­e­monies on Satur­day to mark what lo­cals re­gard as Pa­puan in­de­pen­dence day, ac­cord­ing to the mil­i­tary.
