Se­cu­rity re­mains high at hos­pi­tal af­ter fight

A ward at Ti­maru Hos­pi­tal, where a man is be­ing treated af­ter be­ing stabbed in a gang fight early Fri­day, re­mains in lock­down. Four men were treated at the hos­pi­tal fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent on Dunkirk St. Three men were dis­charged on Fri­day, while one re­mained in hos­pi­tal in a sta­ble con­di­tion, South Can­ter­bury Dis­trict Health Board spokes­woman Stacey Scott said. Scott said the ward in which the gang mem­ber was be­ing treated re­mained in lock­down yes­ter­day. "It will be in lock­down un­til fur­ther no­tice," she said. "It’s still the same sit­u­a­tion as it was on Fri­day." A po­lice spokes­woman said yes­ter­day charges had yet to be laid in re­la­tion to the in­ci­dent.
