Security remains high at hospital after fight
A ward at Timaru Hospital, where a man is being treated after being stabbed in a gang fight early Friday, remains in lockdown. Four men were treated at the hospital following the incident on Dunkirk St. Three men were discharged on Friday, while one remained in hospital in a stable condition, South Canterbury District Health Board spokeswoman Stacey Scott said. Scott said the ward in which the gang member was being treated remained in lockdown yesterday. "It will be in lockdown until further notice," she said. "It’s still the same situation as it was on Friday." A police spokeswoman said yesterday charges had yet to be laid in relation to the incident.
