Railcar ride and museum tour: 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm each day at the Pleasant Point Railway & Museum. Ride the Ford Model T railcar to the museum for a 45-minute tour. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children over 3, and $40 for a family. Runs until March 1.

Gauguin in Aotearoa: Exhibition at the McAtamney Gallery and Design Store, Talbot St, Geraldine. Artistic challenge by Wellington-based German artists Gabriel Heimler and Anna Proc to connect Gauguin’s idyllic vision of the 19th century South Pacific with today’s New Zealand. Until March 26.

Then Again: Exhibition at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd, Timaru. A look into how artist Ross Gray’s work has evolved over about 50 years. Until April 26.

Live’ n Loud: Exhibition at the South Canterbury Museum ,

Perth St, Timaru. Snapshots and remnants from Timaru’s 80s and 90s rock scene. Until May 24.

Makikihi School Sunflower Maze: Fundraiser at the school. Opens today from 5pm-8pm with a sausage sizzle. Open tomorrow 10am-3pm with a carboot sale and pony rides. Then open from 4pm-6pm from February 24-28.

TODAY

Live music: 9pm at the Factory Bar & Nightclub, Stafford St, Timaru. Drum-andbass duo State of Mind will perform supported by Ra Lion, Bulkhead, Zazoo, and Tier One.

TOMORROW

Kids Can-Do TRYathlon: 9am-noon at CBay on Te Weka St. A swim-bike-run race around the aquatic centre and Caroline Bay. Entry is $10 for individual­s, $20 for teams.

LGBT meet-up: 2pm-5pm in the Royal Arcade, Timaru.

SUNDAY

Timaru Triathlon and Duathlon: 7am-noon at Caroline Bay. A competitiv­e swim in the bay and bike and run through the streets of Timaru. Entry is $40 for inviduals, $50 for teams, $35 for duathlon option.

Waimate Family Fun Day: 11am-1pm at the Waimate Public

Pool on Queen St. Free barbecue, St John display, bouncy castle, and fun family fitness events.

Temuka Courthouse Museum Open Day: 2pm-4pm at the museum on Domain Ave. View displays detailing Temuka and the districts farming, family, and social history. Every Sunday until April 12

Open mic: 3pm-6pm at the Hydro Bar, Stafford St, Timaru. All welcome.
