‘‘The House’’ Centennial: 5-7pm today, 10am-10pm tomorrow, 10am2pm Sunday at Timaru Girls’ High School on Cain St. Former boarders gather to celebrate 100 years since the hostel.

Timaru Artisan Farmers’ Market: 9am-12.30pm near the Speights Ale House/I-Site on George St. Great range of fresh produce and artisan crafts.

Geraldine Farmers Market: 9am12.30pm at St Mary’s Church on Talbot St, Geraldine. Live music, coffee, and a range of stalls.

Temuka Farmers Market: 10am1pm at the Temuka town square on King St. Plants, books, jewellery, knitting, and more.

Prince Philip Commemorat­ion Service: 11am at Seddon Square, Waimate. Waimate’s RSA and the district council celebrate the Duke of Edinburgh’s life with bugle renditions of The Last Post and Reveille, three volleys of a Howitzer field gun salute, and the opening of a book of condolence.

Unveiling of horse racing plaque: 11am at the memorial site on the corner of State Highway 1 and Orari Station Rd in Orari. A plaque commemorat­ing Orari’s horse racing history will be unveiled at the site of the first race meeting held in South Canterbury 162 years ago.

TOMORROW and SUNDAY

Autumn horticultu­ral show: 2-5pm tomorrow, 11am-4pm Sunday at the Caroline Bay Hall. Chrysanthe­mums are the theme of the show hosted by the Timaru Horticultu­ral Society. Entry is $4 for adults, free for children and society members.

SUNDAY

Whitehorse Big Easy: 7am-1pm at Victoria Park on Naylor St, Waimate. Bike, walk, run, or complete a duathlon to raise money for a range of Waimate charities.

Geraldine Adventure Race: 9am3pm at Waihi Station on Waihi Gorge Rd, Woodbury. Compete is a three or six-hour event to raise funds for Geraldine High School.

ONGOING

Footloose the musical: 7pm Friday and Saturday, 2pm Sunday at the Playhouse on Church St, Timaru. The South Canterbury Drama League’s junior section present their 60th show, about a street-wise teenager who moves to a small town where rock music and dancing are illegal. Tickets are $30. Runs until April 24.

My Beloved: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd, Timaru. Exhibition of South Canterbury’s favourite artworks. Runs until Sunday.

Cellular Memory: Noon-4pm Saturday and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd, Timaru. Exhibition by Wellington­based artist Elizabeth Thomson. Runs until May 4.

In Service: The South Canterbury RSA collection: 1pm4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday at the South Canterbury Museum on Perth St. A range of objects and images with their own stories on display. Runs until early May.
