TODAY
Museum torchlight hour: 6.30-7.30pm at the Waimate Museum and Archives on Shearman St. Children can bring their torches to explore the museum in darkness. Gold coin entry.
Blackboard Concert: 7.15pm at the Geraldine Academy of Performance and Arts on Talbot St, Geraldine. Come along and play to a live audience. Entry is $5.
Song release tour: 7.30-9pm at the Green Man at Peel Forest on Peel Forest Rd, Geraldine. New Zealand singer-songwriter Monty Bevins brings his Catalina single tour to South Canterbury. Door sales are $10.
Quiz night: 7.30-9.30pm at the Geraldine Bowling Club on Wright St. Get a team of four together to raise money for the Geraldine Lionesses Club, with all profits going to emergency services in the area. Prizes, raffles, and supper included. Entry is $20 per team.
Bingo: 7pm at the Playhouse, Church St, Timaru. Fundraising for The South Canterbury Drama League’s Heathers The Musical. An ‘80s dress up theme, raffles and prizes. $10 for first card, $5 for subsequent cards.

Timaru Artisan Farmers’ Market: 9am-12.30pm near the Speights Ale House/I-Site on George St. Great range of fresh produce and artisan crafts.
Geraldine Farmers Market: 9am12.30pm at St Mary’s Church on Talbot St, Geraldine. Live music, coffee, and a range of stalls.
Temuka Farmers Market: 10am1pm at the Temuka town square on King St. Plants, books, jewellery, knitting, and more.
Magic May Market: 9am-1pm at Lake Takapo¯ /Tekapo’s Motuariki Lane. Community market including homemade goods, clothing and arts and crafts.
SUNDAY
Autumn Gallops Race Day: 11.30am-5pm at the Phar Lap Raceway on State Highway 1. Enjoy some galloping action.
Have a Go at Golf: 1-3pm at the Waimate Golf Club on Browns Rd.
Families can come together for three to six rounds of free golf, as well as a barbecue. The bar will be open.

Cellular Memory: Noon-4pm Tomorrow and Sunday at the Aigantighe Art Gallery on Wai-iti Rd, Timaru. Exhibition by Wellingtonbased artist Elizabeth Thomson. Runs until May 9.
In Service: The South Canterbury RSA collection: 1pm4.30pm tomorrow and Sunday at the South Canterbury Museum on Perth St. A range of objects and images with their own stories on display. Runs until early May.
Anita Rogers: 11am-3pm tomorrow, or by appointment, at the York St Gallery of Fine Art. Exhibition of recent works by the Timaru painter. Runs until May 14.
