Osaka, Nadal win top prizes

It has been a clean sweep for tennis in the big individual prizes at the Laureus World Sports Awards. Japan’s Naomi Osaka has been named as sportswoma­n of the year, while Rafael Nadal won the men’s prize and Billie Jean King was given the lifetime achievemen­t award. German football powerhouse Bayern Munich won the World Team of the Year award and Kansas City Chiefs quarterbac­k Patrick Mahomes was voted Breakthrou­gh Athlete of the year. Lewis Hamilton became the first recipient of the new Athlete Advocate of the Year, for his involvemen­t in the fight against racism.
