Knit in Public Day
Members of the Temuka Knit and Natter Group celebrated Worldwide Knit in Public Day at the Temuka Library on Saturday. The purpose of the day was to show that knitting is something all age groups can enjoy. Group member Adair Hogg said the women mostly knitted for charity for premature babies and to offer warm clothing for children in need. The group meets every Tuesday from 9.30am. Some members are contributing to the Timaru District Council's library challenge of creating the world's largest blanket fort in the hope of breaking the Guiness World Record of 625.79metres.
