King into final

-

New Zealand’s world No 5 Joelle King has reached her second PSA World Tour squash final in as many weeks after coming through a tough five-game (12-10 7-11 11-8 5-11 11-5) battle with Sabrina Sobhy to make the Singapore Open final. King, who claimed the New Zealand Open title the previous weekend in Tauranga, had yet to drop a game at the tournament but was pushed hard by the 18th-ranked Sobhy. King will now face Egyptian Nour El Tayeb for the title.

Grizzlies All-Star guard Ja Morant has a sprained left ankle that will keep him out at least a week and possibly longer. Memphis announced yesterday that Morant suffered a grade one sprain during Saturday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Team officials said Morant’s return timeline will be week-toweek with updates provided as appropriate. Morant left the 121-110 win late after scoring 19 points and having 11 assists. Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said after the game that Morant ‘‘tweaked’’ his ankle after further evaluation of the severity yesterday.
