Red Rock rudely replaced
It was very disappointing, to say the least, to see TVNZ 1’s Red Rock had its final episode on Friday, October 13. This would have to be one of the best, if not the best, drama to have been on our screens recently, and it was replaced by repeats of Britain’s Got
Talent. Can TVNZ tell us if the series will continue at a later date or has it been canned altogether? Red Rock has some fantastic actors and keeps viewers gripped to the screen, episode after episode. It would have the viewing public even more enthralled if it was screened in the evening. It will be greatly missed and members of this household won’t be watching yet more repeats of programmes that have already had their turn. Kathleen Grant (Southbridge)
The scheduling of some programmes will never be understood by most of us, frustrating as it is. But one of the best series in a long time – Red Rock – recently finished on TVNZ 1 weekday afternoons. It has been brilliant and fully deserved a slot at peak viewing time instead of all the reality and repeat programmes we have to put up with. We were religious watchers of Red
Rock, but all of a sudden it stopped and left us hanging. We really enjoyed this Irish garda (state police) story. Will there be more and when? The Guys (Tongariro Prison) A few months ago I accidentally discovered Red Rock on TVNZ 1 at 1am Saturday and Sunday mornings. Then, oh happy days, I discovered I could watch it at 1pm Monday to Friday. Such an excellent Irish police drama. Great writing, fascinating plots, intriguing themes, strong characters. I was hooked – didn’t miss a day. The cliffhanger ending a few Fridays ago had me rushing for the remote on the Monday to see ... Britain’s Got

I have really enjoyed Red Rock on TVNZ 1. Can you please advise if, and when, there will be another series of this addictive drama series? We love it too but, unfortunately, this series didn’t perform as well as we’d hoped, so at this stage we aren’t getting any further episodes.
