Wait just too long

-

We really enjoy watching Silent Witness on Prime, but wonder why on earth both parts cannot be put on in one evening to make a good night’s viewing, rather than having to wait a week. It is only two parts, not like a whole serial. Midsomer Murders, Lewis and other programmes are just as long as a two-parter so why can’t we enjoy the whole story in one evening?

Prime responds: Silent Witness has been designed so we can choose to play it in two parts and that’s what we’ve done for the past few seasons on Prime. While we know the suspense at the end of part one leaves you wanting more, we think the anticipation makes it worth the wait. I see Sky5 will be screening shows such as MacGyver, Supernatural and Supergirl, which were previously on free-to-air channels. TVNZ and others are obviously keen to continue their rapid descent into reality hell and movies that have been repeated more times than I could count. I can’t understand TVNZ at all, apart from figuring they have just given up. I’m down to two shows a week – The X-Files and Blacklist. How long before they disappear too?

K McKenzie (Masterton) I have been watching the weekly series Rick Stein’s Long Weekend (pictured). What a great show. I am not really a fan of food programmes but I love the way he presents food from different countries. Each time he travels, the food he shows gives us a deep insight into the wonderful cultures in the places he visits. A really unique programme.
