Romance needs time
We are intrigued with the programme First Dates NZ screening on TVNZ 2 on Thursday evenings. The young men seem in most cases to be genuinely seeking a partner, but what is wrong with the girls? They harp on about romance, but has nobody suggested to them that romance has to grow from an initial liking and friendship? A viewer can usually see that a couple have the ingredients for a true partnership, but the flighty girls dismiss any likelihood of taking the interest further. Have their brains been addled by the influence of American nonsense?
