‘Amazing’ Naz deserved far better

- Disgusted (Wellington) LC (Motueka) NS (Canterbury)

I enjoyed watching Dancing With The Stars on Monday (May 14) but was horrified to see Naz voted off. There were two male dancers who were so bad the night before when they performed. This is supposed to be a dance competition, but it is nothing but a popularity contest. I, for one, will longer watch. What is the point in having judges? Their scores don’t even count. What is the point in having our celebrities dance at all? They might as well line them up and say to New Zealand vote for your favourite person. I have to comment on the farce elimination of Naz, who apart from not pointing her toes enough is a fantastic dancer. Her tango was absolutely astonishing and amazing. I couldn’t take my eyes off her and her partner. They were brilliant. She should not have been sent home. It should have been David Seymour. I’ve never seen anybody that stiff and uncomfortable while dancing. He has about as much sex appeal as a cabbage. Naz is the complete opposite but she got sent home. How does that make any sense at all? She’s not on The Bachelor any more and should not be judged on that. She should only be judged as a dancer. I was shocked to see her eliminated when in my opinion she was the best dancer there. She handled it with grace but I’m disgusted.

I was very surprised when Naz was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars (May 14). I thought she was a good dancer. I suspect that some members of the public judged her according to their impressions from The Bachelor. She remarked that she now wants to present who she really is. Disappointed also in the judges’ comments to David Seymour. Instead of praising him for trying so hard, I felt they could have advised him to lift his feet, relax and just enjoy it. Trying too hard can be counter-productive. He had already shown improvement the previous week. But thanks to the producers for our winter Dancing “fix”.
