Supergirl looks to add first transgender character

Warner Brothers’ DC comic series Supergirl is planning to bring in a transgender character. The move has been heralded on social media as a positive step towards ‘diverse representation’ in TV. The character, called Nia Nal, is described as a ‘confident, wunderkind of a fashionista’ who was once a political speechwriter. She will be the latest addition to the Catco investigative reporting team in season four, which was announced in April this year.
