EastEnders’ Dirty Den farewelled
Former EastEnders star Leslie Grantham (left), 71, has died. The actor, who played Den Watts (better known as Dirty Den), shot to fame in the 1980s as EastEnders soared in popularity. His feisty relationship with his wife Angie (Anita Dobson, above) was a key focus of many storylines. Grantham left the show in 1989 after Dirty Den was shot and presumed dead but he returned to Albert Square in 2003, for a short-lived stint. Grantham had been under medical supervision shortly before his death, returning to the UK from his home in Bulgaria. A private funeral will be held.
