Catching up again with Coro

-

Thank you, John Kelly (TVNZ’s General Manager of Programming) for bringing Coronation Street up to date. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday two-hour special – it was very well done. I have been watching every night since and although some of the characters are unknown I will catch up with them. The article in the TV Guide helped a great deal and I will watch the 1pm episodes when I can. I am pleased we are up to date and hope we won’t slip behind again. Thanks.

Why is Coronation Street on at 9.30pm? I am over 60 but still work and have early mornings to start my work days. It used to be on at 7.30pm. Ratings will fall if programmes are on too late, not because we are behind.

Sue Peters (Manukau) It is great that Coronation Street is now up to date with Britain. I was introduced to it in 1962 when I was on my big OE in England. Fifty six years on and I still love it. Now in my late 70s, I find the 9.30pm slot rather late. I wonder, if the programme is as popular as Mr John Kelly tells us, if it could be shown at either 7.30pm or 8.30pm. Another thought ... Could there be a special channel for the Foodie Lovers who could watch their much-loved shows without the Coronation Street fans losing regularity with their programme?

I have been sitting reading the Coronation Street spoiler alert in the TV Guide (about events on UK screens over the past 18 months). I thought, “Do I really want to continue to watch such an immoral and stupid programme?” The answer was “No, I don’t”. Thank you, John Kelly for giving me several hours of my life back every week.
