Ready Player One

A classic Spielberg production which uses full-on technical wizardry to capture the spirit of video gamers but it lacks the emotional punch of the book on which it is based. It centres on an orphaned teenager and his on-line buddies who combine to defeat a ruthless corporation. Spielberg called the film his most challenging since Saving Private Ryan, but it really is a case of style over substance.
