Dancing with the popular people
I want to congratulate Johnny and Jess from Dancing With The Stars for bringing us a beautiful and unadulterated foxtrot. So many “pro” dancers show off their athletic skills until the dance is barely recognisable. My husband and I did ballroom dancing and that should be gliding over the dancefloor – not flying through the air. May Johnny and Jess win the series. As they say, “Less is more”.

I was absolutely disgusted, mortified and gob-smacked at the elimination of Suzy Cato from Dancing With The Stars. Not only that, two of the show’s promising finalists had to dance off against each other. If this show is about winning by popular vote then may I suggest a title change to Popular Vote. Popular vote makes it an unfair playing field for all contestants, as we have already seen. I feel sorry for the contestants, who put their heart and soul into a worthy cause, and also for the judges. Why have top-class judges at all when their adjudicating counts for nought? What a slap in the eye for them. The idea of a charity show in itself is great but not at the expense of demeaning its contestants.

Please tell me how David Seymour managed to stay in Dancing With The Stars for so long? A frog would have more flexibility in movements than him but that’s insulting the frog. I felt so sorry for Shavaughn Ruakere and Suzy Cato, who are 100 times better than him, but they had to dance off. David Seymour should have gone that week. He lasted far too long.

I enjoy watching Dancing With The Stars but in future series I would like to see no eliminations so everyone gets to dance the same style of dance each week, building up points. The top six teams would then compete in the final.
