Digital Watch: Latest from the world of streaming.
The connections some humans have with canines of all shapes and sizes is the subject of Dogs. Each episode of this six-part documentary series tells a particular story. First up is Corrine, an 11-year-old Ohio girl with epilepsy who is looking forward to acquiring a dog which will hopefully let family members know when she is having a seizure. The next episode heads to Berlin where a Syrian refugee named Ayham, 22, is missing Zeus, the Siberian Husky he left behind in Damascus. For the past two years the animal has been looked after by one of Ayham’s friends. Ayham is desperate to be reunited with his beloved pet. Other episodes feature Japanese dog groomers, a stray-dog sanctuary in Costa Rica, and an Italian fisherman whose constant companion is a dog named Ice. Uplifting and touching, hard-core animal lovers may want to keep the tissues handy. Streams on Netflix.
