Epic Three, 3.50pm Voices Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell. A star-studded voice cast and beautiful animation boost what is otherwise a fairly routine story of good versus evil set in a forest populated by various miniature creatures. ★★★

Quantum Of Solace Three, 7pm Starring Daniel Craig. Craig’s second outing as quintessential secret agent James Bond continues as an action spectacle in much the same vein as franchise reboot Casino Royale. ★★★

Iron Man 2 TVNZ 2, 8.30pm

Starring Robert Downey Jr, Mickey Rourke. It was always fairly unlikely that this sequel

was ever going to match the freshness and appeal of its predecessor – but it does come close, thanks to solid performances from a dependable cast and some expectedly impressive special effects. ★★★★

Van Helsing Three, 9.05pm Starring Hugh Jackman, Kate Beckinsale. Big-budget effects nowhere near offset the bland script and characterisations in this actioner about a 19th-century Dracula hunter. ★★
