Maureen Lipman is taking a break from her role as Evelyn on Coronation Street – but she will be back. The actress, who plays Tyrone’s long-lost grandmother, will be kicked out of Tyrone’s house after revealing a bombshell about how

she abandoned him as a baby. Although Evelyn has taken a one-way trip to Italy, it has been confirmed Lipman will return to Coro Street soon.

Empire actor Jussie Smollett (above) has been hospitalised after a suspected racial and homophobic attack. Chicago police say two offenders approached him and poured an unknown chemical substance over him. Smollet is in hospital but is said to be recovering well.
