Sugar Baby Murder Three, 1pm Starring Lorynn York, Aubrey Reynolds. A college graduate learns that a big salary carries a high price. Not reviewed.

Just Getting Started Sky Premiere, 8.30pm Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Morgan Freeman. Another ’ageing disgracefully’ comedy starring Freeman. Here he plays Duke, a former Mob lawyer now managing a retirement resort in Palm Springs. A former FBI agent

moves in, beats him at all the resort’s games, and is more popular with the ladies. But when the Mob learns of Duke’s new life, they set out to get him. Sadly, Just Getting Started never gets going. ★

Mama Africa M ori TV, 8.30pm Documentary celebration of the life of Miriam Makeba, the first South African musician to become an international star in the 1950s. She was an outspoken critic of apartheid and was forced to move to New York where she married Black Panther Stokely Carmichael. She returned to her homeland when Nelson Mandela became President. ★★★★

Hangman Prime, 8.30pm Starring Al Pacino, Karl Urban. Al Pacino has had a long, distinguished career, which reached its peak some time ago. The Hangman is a film that won’t enhance his legacy as the archetypal brooding tough cop, although he does add a touch of class. He plays a detective who teams up with a criminal profiler (Urban) to catch a killer who is playing a macabre version of the children’s Hangman game. It’s a turgid, drawn-out affair despite its relatively short 98 minutes and it doesn’t help that the answer to the puzzle is fairly obvious. ★★
