Frustrated by the credits squeeze

- KM (Auckland)

I have to agree with Jonathon Harrison of Otaki (Mr Telly, April 24-30) about Line Of Duty – a tremendous show. I found the earlier series online and caught up with the story, although it would be great for newcomers to have it televised from the beginning. I also agree with the squeezing of credits at the end of a programme which is becoming the norm and it is accompanied by a blast of noise from a promo for a comedy after watching something thought-provoking and dramatic. Are we being told that we have no control over that? The same goes for the constantly annoying pop-up ads at the bottom of the screen during a programme. They aren’t small ads either. They are intrusive and have grown larger over time, along with the big strip of promos down the side of a screen. It lingers and lingers... I’m sure these practices are not enticing viewers.
