Become a star for a day

-

The Shortland Street Behind-The-Scenes tour is an experience you won’t find anywhere else. See the secrets of fast-turnaround TV and discover how they have helped make the show a success for 29 years and more than 7000 episodes.

Our lucky winner and a friend will get up close and personal with the stars and walk on the sets that we see on our TVs every weeknight.

It’s a real money-can’t-buy experience as South Pacific Pictures’ studios are strictly off-limits to the public and only a few privileged people are allowed through each year. During the tour you will see why. Most people don’t realise the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to create those episodes we enjoy each night.

To keep the show on air all year, the dedicated cast and crew film the equivalent of an episode every working day. The show is a full-time enterprise kept to very tight schedules and time constraints.

Our lucky winner and friend will meet the stars of the show and get a sense of the real people behind the characters. They will also meet the crew who are right there in every scene, just out of shot and each with a specific part to play in making Shortland Street the success story it is. There is no better chance to see the inner workings of a full-time production studio than this.

Every year the Shortland Street office receives hundreds of inquiries from fans who would love to get that chance, but you could be the ones who win it.
