First bloke and chief fisherman Clarke Gayford (right) returns with a new season of freshly caught adventures at sea. In this season, Gayford fishes the waters of the tropical South Pacific to the last inhabitabl­e islands before Antarctica. Series continues Sunday at 6.30pm.

When a wealthy, entitled young woman (Celine Buckens, left) is arrested for conspiring to murder a fellow student, it generates a media frenzy. From the creators of submarine drama Vigil, this British drama examines class tensions and flaws within the legal system.

SUNDAY Gemini Man Three, 8pm

Will Smith and Clive Owen star in this 2019 action thriller about an ageing assassin who must face off against a clone of himself. A review on Stuff praised the action sequences, describing the film as “pretty well assembled, mindless fun”.

MONDAY Meng

Whakaata M ori, 8.30pm

This local documentar­y follows a year in the life of Meng Foon, the former Gisborne mayor, current Race Relations Commission­er, and passionate te reo advocate.

The Rookie Three, 8.40pm

He is no longer the rookie of the title, as season four has John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) promoted up the ranks of the police. This season also features comedian Pete Davidson reprising his role as Nolan’s brother, also named Pete.

TUESDAY 2022 74th Emmy Awards Vibe, noon

Comedian Kenan Thompson hosts this year’s annual celebratio­n of the best of television. Among this year’s nominees is Kiwi actor Melanie Lynskey for her performanc­e in the drama Yellowjack­ets.

Kia Ora, Good Evening Three, 8.40pm

Mike McRoberts (below) shares his journey to reclaim his M ori heritage and language in this documentar­y. In a piece he wrote for TV Guide, McRoberts shared the pressures of trying to learn to speak te reo as an adult and as a person who is M ori. “But what I also understand now is that I’m not alone. There are thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of New Zealanders in the same waka.” Story p8.

Speak No Māori TVNZ 1, 8.40pm

Celebratin­g Te Wiki o te Reo M ori and the 50th anniversar­y of the M ori language petition being presented on the steps of Parliament, this documentar­y chronicles the history of te reo M ori, from the dominant language of Aotearoa to its suppressio­n by colonialis­ts and the long road to the current era of revitalisa­tion.

The Diana Investigat­ions Three, 9.35pm

Marking the 25th anniversar­y of the tragic death of Princess Diana (right),

this documentar­y tells the story of the two main police investigat­ions into the car accident that took her life, focusing on the work of the French and British investigat­ors. Story p4.

WEDNESDAY American Gigolo SoHo, 8.30pm

This reimaginin­g of the 1980 film of the same name stars John Bernthal (above, We Own This City) as Julian Kaye, a male escort who was framed for murder and sent to prison 15 years ago. Freshly released after his wrongful conviction, Julian is determined to find out why he was set up all those years ago.

What Happened On September 11 Prime, 9.40pm

Commemorat­ing the deadly September 11 attacks, this 2019 documentar­y features young people in conversati­on with survivors and family members who lived through the tragedy.

THURSDAY Rich Listers Bravo, 7.30pm

This new local series follows real estate agents, including former deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett and former Miss New Zealand Holly Cassidy, as they sell some of the nation’s ritziest properties. Tonight, the agents assemble to inspect New Zealand’s most expensive apartment.

Get The Name Right Three, 9.30pm

In this new local series, Joe Daymond and Kara Rickard travel New Zealand and the world to reveal the origins of New Zealand place names. The pair also discuss whether it’s time to look at changing some of those names to better reflect Aotearoa.

FRIDAY The World’s Most Extraordin­ary Homes TVNZ 1, 9.30pm

In the final episode of this series, architect Piers Taylor and actor Caroline Quentin head to Israel to explore homes that have been inspired by cultural and historical traditions.
